Automatic for the People és el vuitè àlbum de la banda de rock alternatiu nord-americà R.E.M., llançat en 1992.

L'àlbum va ser un èxit a nivell comercial i de crítiques, amb tres top 40 hits en els Estats Units. Conté els senzills Man on The Moon i la ultrapopular Everybody Hurts. És un dels discos més venuts de la banda i un dels millors dels anys 90.

L'àlbum va ser inclòs en la llista dels 500 Millors Àlbums de la Història de la Rolling Stone, ocupant el lloc 249 en el seu reedició de febrero de 2012.
