Va ser un trombonista i compositor estatunidenc conegut pel seu treball en jazz, big band i gèneres clàssics.

 

Pederson va actuar i va gravar amb grans bandes i artistes com Gene Krupa, Tommy Dorsey, Nelson Riddle, Doc Severinsen (finals de la dècada de 1960) i Frank Sinatra. També va ser un prolífic músic d'estudi per a bandes sonores de pel·lícules, programes de televisió i ràdio, i altres gravacions, arribant a realitzar fins a sis sessions d'estudi al dia.
