Milt Bernhart (25 de maig de 1926 - 22 de gener de 2004) va ser un trombonista de jazz de la Costa Oest que va col·laborar amb Stan Kenton, Frank Sinatra i altres. Va interpretar el solo enmig de la gravació de Sinatra de 1956 de " I'veu Got You Under My Skin", dirigida per Nelson Riddle

Bernhart (a vegades escrit Bernhardt) va començar tocant la tuba, però es va canviar al trombó en la secundària. Als 16 anys va treballar en la banda de Boyd Raeburn i més tard va tenir algunes actuacions amb Teddy Powell. Després d'un temps en l'Exèrcit dels Estats Units, va col·laborar, intermitentment, amb Stan Kenton durant els següents deu anys. Potser se l'associa més amb Kenton, però en 1955 va publicar el seu primer àlbum com a líder. En 1986 va ser elegit president de la Big band Academy of America.

Encara que era conegut pel seu caràcter afable i el seu sentit de l'humor, el seu breu període amb Benny Goodman va ser un aspecte que va deslligar la seva ira. Va indicar que treballar amb Goodman va ser el pitjor dels seus primers 23 anys de vida, excepte per l'entrenament bàsic en l'Exèrcit. Va cridar a Goodman un "avorriment" i va afirmar que no va fer res per a evitar el tracte que va rebre Wardell Gray en un club segregat de Las Vegas. Fins i tot al·lega que va renunciar perquè Goodman va humiliar públicament a Gray enfront d'un públic.

Bernhart va morir d'insuficiència cardíaca congestiva en Glendale, Califòrnia, a l'edat de 77 anys en Adventist Health Glendale.
