Jim Horn

Naixement: 20 de novembre de 1940 a Los Angeles, Califòrnia, Estats Units

Horn va néixer a Los Angeles, i després de substituir el saxofonista Steve Douglas el 1959, va fer una gira amb el membre Duane Eddy durant cinc anys, tocant el saxo i la flauta a la carretera, i a l'estudi de gravació. Juntament amb Bobby Keys i Jim Price es va convertir en un dels intèrprets de trompa més demandats dels anys setanta i vuitanta.

Horn va tocar en àlbums en solitari de tres membres dels Beatles, formant una llarga associació amb George Harrison després d'aparèixer al Concert per a Bangla Desh d'aquest últim el 1971. Horn va fer gira amb John Denver de 1978 a 1993. També va tocar amb Denver en concerts de tant en tant després del Wildlife Concert de 1995.

Va tocar la flauta a l'enregistrament d'estudi original de "Going Up the Country" de Canned Heat, reproduït a la pel·lícula Woodstock. Horn va tocar la flauta i el saxo a l'àlbum Pet Sounds dels Beach Boys, i va tocar la flauta a l'àlbum Goats Head Soup dels Rolling Stones. Horn també va col·laborar amb Don Williams en almenys dues cançons i va fer una gira amb Williams durant dos anys.

El 2007, Horn va ser inclòs al Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum de Nashville com a membre del Wrecking Crew.

El 1961, la germana de Jim, Kathie, es va casar amb Mike Deasy, un conegut guitarrista de sessió que també va treballar molt amb el Wrecking Crew.
