Robert Cranshaw (3 de desembre de 1932 - 2 de novembre de 2016) va ser un baixista
de jazz nord-americà. La seva
carrera va abastar des de l'apogeu de Blue Note
Records com a baixista de
la casa discogràfica fins a
la seva posterior participació
al Musicians Union. Potser és més
conegut per la seva llarga col·laboració amb Sonny Rollins.
Cranshaw va formar part de
la banda de Rollins de forma intermitent
durant més de cinc dècades, començant amb una actuació en directe al festival de jazz Playboy de Chicago de 1959 i enregistrant l'àlbum The Bridge de 1962.
Cranshaw va
morir a l'edat de 83 anys
el 2 de novembre de 2016, a Manhattan, Nova York, de càncer en etapa IV.
