Harper
va signar amb Virgin Records en 1992, any en el qual va gravar "Pleasure
and pain" juntament amb Tom Freund, àlbum que es va limitar a 1.500 còpies
en vinil.
El
1997 i 1999 va tocar en els Tibetan Freedom Concerts i es va convertir en
teloner de grups com R.e.m., Radiohead, Metallica, Pearl Jam i The Fugees.
